CAP4INNO TRAINING WORKSHOP ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The second training workshop on “Entrepreneurship” for the CAP4INNO project was held at Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), and Oficina Nacional de la Propiedad Industrial (ONAPI),  Dominican Republic, from 20th to 22nd October 2014. This workshop was co-organized by INTEC and the University of Alicante (UA), coordinator of the CAP4INNO project.

This 4-day-workshop was intended to upgrade the qualifications of the partner HEI academic and management staff with a view to providing the high-level skills required for capacity development in the energy sector and to reinforce organisational capacities for regional cooperation and knowledge transfer.

This workshop has provided insights in the different ways of exploiting research results and IP, from the different methods to evaluate an idea, to deciding on how to best exploit it. Basic notions on how to develop entrepreneurial projects were included with a special focus to address the issue of how to develop a curriculum/university courses to inspire and enable entrepreneurship. UA presented the up-to-date workplan and goals of the CAPINNO project and the future workshop that will take place in Jamaica.

This training workshop was combined with an International Conference on Sustainable Energy Development that took place at INTEC on 23rd and 24th October. During the conference the CAP4INNO project was presented by Noelia López, Project Coordinator, who also participated as a panelist in the round table “Sustainable Energy Development and Climate Change”. The next workshop will be held in Jamaica from the 10th to the 12th of March 2015.
